Make it Everyday

If tomorrow is Earth Day, then what exactly are all the other 364 days of the year? The truth is, we owe absolutely everything & life as we know it to this delicate planet, and a bit of gratitude & stewardship are in order. Here are some easy tips to make everyday Earth Day:

AT HOME
*Have the family gather around one TV, rather than being scattered into individual rooms
*Avoid doing laundry until you have a full load
*Replace current light bulbs with energy-efficient versions

AT THE OFFICE
*Use both sides of a sheet of paper (we do!)
*Turn off lights in rooms that are rarely used
*Implement a recycling program, if one doesn't already exist

AT THE MARKET
*Ditch the plastic bag & bring your own reusable one
*Avoid individually-packed snacks. The less packaging, the better.
*Buy more organic produce
*Step out of the supermarket & head to a farmers market for local produce

The little things DO add up. Put very simply, you can do something (even if seemingly minimal), or you can do nothing. This Earth has given us everything. What will we give back?
~
To do our part, the Sencha Naturals facility is powered by 100% clean solar energy. We use 100% recycled paper in the office, our SEN CHA product boxes are made of recycled paper, and we re-use our Green Tea Mint canisters to hold paper clips & other office paraphernalia.

Tea, for the Downtime

I know what you're thinking: "Nobody has downtime anymore..." But of course we do! How often do we find a lull in our day or some extra free time in the evenings, and the first instinct is to find something to eat? Most of the time, this desire does not arise out of actual physical hunger, but rather boredom or confusion with being free from any deadlines or work.

So before you grab that bag of chips or start scooping out some ice cream, try a cup of tea instead. Warm tea will bring relaxation in the evenings, and iced tea will give you a nice boost during the day. You'll be surprised to find your 'hunger' might actually have been thirst, and your munchies will go away.

And sometimes we just have 'mental munchies.' That is, we eat because we feel a deep need to fill our time with some sort of activity, and food is the easiest (and readily available) resource. How about going for a hike instead? Call an old friend, take a relaxing bath, or read that book you've been meaning to finish for the past 6 months. Downtime is YOU time. Take advantage by taking care of yourself, tea mug in hand.

If your munchies are a result of actual hunger, grab a Green Tea Bar! All-natural & packed with decaffeinated green tea polyphenols, it'll keep you satisfied through wholesome nourishment.

Tea, For the Rest of Us

It's no secret that we live in a coffee society. We grow up with the bubbling sounds of our parents' coffee maker each morning, we are bombarded by cafes at each & every city corner, and new friends or business acquaintances invite us to chat over a cup of coffee. But...what if we don't like it?

Some of us are too sensitive to caffeine.
Some of of don't like its acidity.
Some of us get the jitters...pretty bad.
And some of us just plain don't like the taste. *gasp!*

So what do we do? Do we apologize and coyly tell others that we prefer tea? Is it emasculating? Does it make us social deviants?

Tea has been shown to provide numerous health benefits, contains less blood pressure-raising caffeine, and is extremely versatile. It's used in gourmet dishes, desserts, and infused into mints & snack bars. And on certain mornings & anxiety-filled moments in our day, coffee just won't do. It simply doesn't satisfy, soothe, or provide comfort quite like tea.

So pass up that cuppa Joe, steep a few leaves of Camellia sinensis, and relax with a different type of infusion. Flavor-full and jitter-free.

Are you also a tea person? Your mouth is sure to be enlightened by SEN CHA Green Tea Mints & Bars.

Happy Hunting!

Who says Easter Egg Hunts have to be for the kids? This weekend, while the little ones are running around trying to find every last brightly-colored egg, you can get the rest of the family involved by filling plastic egg shells with treasures more suited to their taste.
Easy, affordable prizes include key chains, wine bottle toppers, hair ties, potpourri sachets, or even personalized gift certificates for whimsical rewards of your choosing.

For tea aficionados, the plastic shells can be filled with tea bags, packets of sweeteners, or individual packettes of Green Tea Mints!

Whatever their contents, the plastic eggs are a surefire way to get the family together for an exciting, discover-filled Sunday.

Bad News, Sencha Fans

In these past few months, our company has been considering taking a step away from green tea. With this dwindling economy, it has become apparent that tea just isn't in demand anymore. Families all over the US are watching their pocketbooks closely, and unfortunately, specialty foods & products like green tea are no longer flying off the shelves.

Therefore, this blogger is sad to say that our Green Tea Mints & Green Tea Bars will soon be just plain mints & bars. The flavors will remain the same, but in an effort to save a bit of "green" on our end, we will have to cut out the Fair Trade matcha & sencha extracts used in our products. We understand that many of you greatly appreciate this added green tea supplement in our products, so we apologize for this change in formula. Hopefully it will only be a temporary change, and we will return to our authentic green tea style in no time!

~
...Just kidding. Our trademark SEN CHA mints & bars just wouldn't be the same without the green tea touch. After all, Sencha even means "green tea leaves" in Japanese, so how could be possibly stray from this key ingredient? April fools from Sencha Naturals =)
